This notice is to let you know that we are introducing an email authentication system that will be used during logins to protect accounts that have been inactive for an extended period. This is part of a set of security enhancements we are carrying out to prevent unauthorized access and similar activities.
Those who will be affected:
Anyone logging into Chatwork who has not been active for a long period.
*Anyone who uses the following login methods will not be affected:
- Logins with 2-Step verification.
- Logins with Google or Apple authentication.
- Logins with a single sign-on using SAML authentication.
Expected date for email authentication to start:
Will roll out sequentially starting mid-February 2024.
Details about our email authentication system:
If you have been inactive for an extended period, it becomes harder to notice unauthorized access to your account, which heightens the risk of unauthorized use of your account. Therefore, in order to strengthen account security, we will be using authentication emails for user identification purposes.
If you log in to your account after being inactive for a long period, we will send an email containing an authentication code to the email address you used to sign up with. Enter the authentication code contained in the email to log in to your account.
-User verification email subject line: Chatwork: Confirm your authentication code
-User verification email content: Authentication code to log in
By using this system, we can protect accounts that have been inactive for an extended period from unauthorized use and help ensure that you can safely use Chatwork without any interruptions.
Please check your login email address.
If you cannot receive the user verification email because your email address is not up to date, etc., then you may lose access to important features and services. Please check to make sure that your registered email address is valid.
